The Curtain Raiser Tempranillo
When Ralph Jones asked his local bank manager for a loan to help start a winery called Kellermeister he was met with some resistance. How anyone could dream of competing with the corporate giants that dominated the Barossa Valley at the time was beyond the money lender. Ralph explained that his bold idea was not to compete with those monoliths, but rather to play The Curtain Raiser by making small batches of unique and interesting wines, leaving the longer, less intimate act to the big boys. To this day, Kellermeister remains steadfast in its commitment to playing The Curtain Raiser in the Barossa Valley and this hand made, small batch Tempranillo is a prime example. As you enjoy our interpretation of this interesting Spanish grape variety, be sure to raise a glass to The Curtain Raiser!
