View a selection of oil landscape paintings by local artist Karen Slape at our cellar door during the Barossa Arts Festival between 30 March to 30 April 2024.

Karen is a practising visual artist living on the outskirts of Riverton on Ngadjuri Country.

Living and working on a cropping/beef farm this rural, agricultural, environment with its seasonal changes, especially the dramatic plays between light and colours during early mornings and late afternoons, is where I find my current source of inspiration.

Painting predominantly in Oils, her subject matter is the landscape. Her work reflects a response to the beauty and history of the land we live on and the environment that Mother Nature provides. Whilst taking a large brush approach to show a balance and harmony of movement and patterns to create unity and variety of the essence that the Australian landscape offers. Using her purpose-built studio, she thrives on the creative challenges as she works with the ever-changing physical environment surrounding her to realise her visions.
